Effective Writing I - 5 weeks, asynchronous and synchronous, via Zoom
I developed and teach this course at The University of Chicago's Graham School. Founded on the principles of clear writing developed at The University of Chicago’s renowned Writing Program, this course demystifes what it means to write clearly for academic and professional purposes. The principles focus on meeting the needs of readers at the sentence and paragraph levels. The course is open and useful to all from the most experienced writers to those uncertain about their writing skills.

In this second of the 2-course sequence, we will discuss paragraphs, introductions, and argument. This course focuses on how to structure longer pieces of writing that promise value.

In December, things slow down even if the holidays can be hectic. This is the perfect time to work on your writing projects. Whether you're creating a portfoilo for National Board Certification, working on an academic article, or developing a business plan, you need structured time and accountability to get the writing done. Use the boot camp to help you dedicate time to writing at least 5 days a week.
