1:1 Coaching to Get the Writing Done—Quickly
We believe in your ability to write effectively—and we're here to make sure you do.
Coaching Philosophy
People need instruction and coaching that is specific and technical, especially when it comes to writing. They also need encouragement to rigorously develop their ideas and to believe in them. We do both.
We see ourselves as muses or midwives.
We aim to inspire and help you give birth to new ideas, projects, and programs.
We see writing as a means and an end.
The writing process helps you develop your thoughts and plans; the writing product helps you achieve something. Both are powerful.
You lead; we listen.
We know about writing, but we don’t know what you know. We take your lead and listen carefully. We become your partners in developing your ideas and writing about them.
We reject shame...
There's no need to submit a draft in advance or apologize for not being further along. Come as you are, commit to learning, and be ready to revise your way to the next draft.

"...I've been thinking about how important your support has been in getting me to the point where I could press 'send'. You helped me in so many ways - brainstorming, editing, providing resources, etc. You went well above that though, because I felt that you 'saw' me, the person who was doing the writing as much as what was being written. You helped me through insecurities that were holding me back by giving me your time, your 'ear', and compassion."
- Mona Queoff, Graduate, Master of Liberal Arts Program
Who benefits from 1:1 coaching?
The short answer? Anybody. Anybody who may be unsure about how to write for a particular purpose and would like to learn how. Do you already have confidence? You still need support. Our coaching helps you complete your projects quickly, effectively, and with confidence. See the list below for examples of whom we help.
Writers who want clear next steps for their draft: Get advice on structure, flow, logical relationships, argumentation and more.
Experts who are writing for non-experts: Translate complex research and concepts into prose that readers can understand.
Confident writers who would like to develop their ideas: Push your ideas further, refine content, and determine the best structure.
Professionals polishing a book or article for publication: Refine your text to show the significance and value of your ideas.
Individuals who are writing academic projects: Learn what is expected in academic writing, such as theses, and how to write them.
Anyone who has something to write: Count on respectful and supportive guidance that helps you get moving.
