About Write to Do

Millie Rey
"I'm on your side..."
Writing instruction is not all we do, but we proceed from the idea that writing is the foundation for thinking. With writing as a tool -- and an outcome -- we help you accomplish what you have a mind to. Thinking and writing helps others see that you make sense.

I help eliminate the shame and insecurity that creep up when you want to accomplish something that requires confidence and writing. I want to clear away the obstacles so that you can do what you set out to do.
I am a teacher, a social scientist and an expert on writing. I combine these 3 areas of expertise to provide rigorous and well-informed guidance and instruction.
I have extensive experience working with students and clients of all ages and from all walks of life, including business people, faculty, professionals, non-native speakers of English, corporations, schools, doctoral students, graduate students, undergraduates, high school students and even younger students.

I like to say that writing is the foundation of thinking. At Write to Do, we help you do both so that you can do what you have a mind to do.

"We help you grasp your own vision."
At the outset of the last century, about 20% of the world’s people could write. Now we are nearing 100%. Write to Do does not teach writing, because despite what most writing teachers think, people need very little correction. What they need, and what we provide, is support to grasp their own vision.
A teacher cannot articulate all the truths your perspective has to offer. What you need—the living heart of what you have to offer—is the character and integrity of your perspective. But to bring those out, to assist you in recognizing, stating, and disciplining your perspective, requires teachers who can gently and lovingly guide you so that you can help readers see the work through your expert eye.
Understanding that you write as an expert is our first lesson. The rest we will discover and teach you until you begin to teach everyone.
